Honestly I never thought chicken meatballs could be so juicy and packed full of flavor but here we are! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowlofdelicious.com\/buffalo-chicken-meatballs\/\">Buffalo chicken meatballs<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowlofdelicious.com\/chicken-zucchini-meatballs\/\">chicken zucchini meatballs<\/a>, and now these Asian Chicken Meatballs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With fresh green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil, the meatballs on their own are amazing. Then smother them in a sticky, sweet sauce? Even better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Best of all? These easy chicken meatballs come together in only 30 minutes. These meatballs reflect some flavors typical of East Asian cuisine. For simplicity&rsquo;s sake for a mostly US-based audience, I&rsquo;ve called these Asian meatballs, but they make no claims of authenticity for any specific East Asian cuisine.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ingredients-and-substitutions\">Ingredients and Substitutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-for-the-meatballs\">For the meatballs:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ground Chicken &ndash; <\/strong>ground turkey or pork could also be used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Panko breadcrumbs &ndash; <\/strong>or unseasoned Italian breadcrumbs <em>(here&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowlofdelicious.com\/bread-crumbs\/\">how to make your own breadcrumbs<\/a>!).<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Green onions<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fresh ginger &ndash; <\/strong>1\/3 of the amount of powdered ginger can be used in a pinch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fresh garlic &ndash; <\/strong>1\/3 of the amount of garlic powder can be used in a pinch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Soy sauce &ndash; <\/strong>low sodium or gluten-free <em>(tamari)<\/em>, or coconut aminos, etc. if needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Toasted sesame oil<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-for-the-sauce\">For the sauce:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Soy sauce<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cornstarch &ndash; <\/strong>or arrowroot powder if needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Honey &ndash; <\/strong>or another sweetener<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Toasted sesame oil<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rice vinegar<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sriracha &ndash; <\/strong>or chili garlic sauce or your favorite Asian hot sauce. Omit for a mild version.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-asian-chicken-meatballs\">How to make Asian Chicken Meatballs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, <strong>mix the meatball mixture. <\/strong>Mix the egg, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, green onion, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, canola oil, and black pepper in a bowl. Then, <strong>add the ground chicken <\/strong>and mix well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scoop <\/strong>the meatballs mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet <em>(for easy clean-up &ndash; grease the baking sheet if not using parchment paper).<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bake the meatballs.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make the sauce. <\/strong>Whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch in a small pot. Add the sesame oil, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey. Heat up until thick on the stove &ndash; it should only take a few minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, <strong>toss the cooked meatballs with the sauce. <\/strong>Be gentle with them so they don&rsquo;t fall apart.
