It&rsquo;s everything you love about egg rolls from your favorite Chinese restaurant, but without the wrapping and frying. Let&rsquo;s get to it!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ingredients-and-substitutions\">Ingredients and Substitutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Ground Pork<\/strong> &ndash; pork is commonly used in egg rolls and works well here, but you can use another ground meat of choice, like beef, turkey, chicken, or a plant-based substitute like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmeat.com\/en-US\/products\/beyond-beef\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">beyond meat<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>Green onions<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Fresh ginger &ndash; <\/strong>ginger powder can be used in a pinch<\/li><li><strong>Fresh garlic &ndash; <\/strong>garlic powder can be used in a pinch<\/li><li><strong>Shredded cabbage &ndash; <\/strong>you can just get a bag of coleslaw mix if you prefer not to shred by hand!<\/li><li><strong>Shredded carrots &ndash; <\/strong>I like buying the already cut matchstick style carrots<\/li><li><strong>Soy sauce<\/strong> &ndash; gluten free\/tamari if needed, or liquid aminos<\/li><li><strong>Rice vinegar<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Sriracha &ndash; <\/strong>or chili garlic sauce, or omit for a mild version<\/li><li><strong>Toasted sesame oil<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Sesame seeds &ndash; <\/strong>optional<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-egg-roll-in-a-bowl\">How to make Egg Roll in a Bowl<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First, <strong>saut&eacute; the green onions, fresh ginger, and garlic <\/strong>in canola oil until softened and starting to brown.
