Just made it with a couple tweaks. I added a 15 oz. can of diced fire-roasted tomatoes and some liquid smoke. Instead of making it as a soup, I added 1.5 cups of basmati rice so that it’s more of a casserole. Turned out great!

Absolutely delicious recipe. I followed the recipe as written and it turned out fabulous. I used spices that I don’t usually cook with so I was a bit hesitant. However, go for it! It is fantastic and I will be adding as a regular addition to my meal planning.

The limes can absolutely be reduced to one, especially if you’re dealing with extra juicy limes or if you’re sensitive to citrus. I love the zingy flavor of a lot of lime in this soup but it’s easily adaptable to personal preference.

Not a bad recipe, but two limes is wayyyyy too much juice. Maybe just go with one lime in the future.

This a great soup recipe. It reminded me of tortilla soup so I added a can of rotes with green chili.
