Hi everyone! It’s that time again- when I write about how I make money blogging. If you’re new here, every three months (or every quarter of the year) I write a post documenting my sources of income, what I’ve learned, what I’m going to do moving forward, and check in about my goals. It’s a way to a) share this valuable information with other bloggers or aspiring bloggers, and b) hold myself accountable to working hard to achieve my goals.

Well folks, here it is! My fourth quarterly blog income report. Bowl of Delicious brought in a whopping (well, for a side income at least) $3631.34 in October, November, and December of 2015. That’s an average of over $1200 a month!

For all my new subscribers and visitors: if you are confused right now, let me briefly explain what this is.

Every three months, I put together a quarterly report on how much income my blog generates (you can read the archives here). The end of 2015 marked my two-year anniversary of blogging. To give you an idea of how far this blog has come in those two years: my total income for my first three months blogging was $23.25. The first three months of my second year of blogging brought in $1000.06. And it continues to grow and grow! It’s my hope that these posts will help other bloggers, particularly those just beginning (or those interested in starting a blog), get a realistic idea of how much money you can make blogging, especially as a side job (I’m an art teacher full time), how specifically to generate revenue, and to hopefully learn from my mistakes.

I am SO EXCITED to share some BIG income news with you. I’ve been waiting on the edge of my seat since the end of September to write this post so I could double and triple check my earnings.

Sorry. I’m getting a little ahead of myself here. If you’re new to Bowl of Delicious, and you are confused right now, here’s what’s happening. Every three months, I post a quarterly income report on how I make money from blogging. Running a website takes a lot of time, and while my full-time job currently is teaching (high school art), I consider blogging to be my hobby that turned into a side job. I write about my income to help other people who are also interested in beginning a blog to make some extra money (because can’t we all use a little help in the money department?).

Instead, this post shares how I am making money on my blog. Back in April, I wrote Bowl of Delicious’s First Quarterly Income Report. In that post, I talked about how I made just over $1000 in the span of the first three months of 2015. I’m happy to report that I’ve made almost $400 more- for a total of $1387.54- in the second quarter (April, May, and June) of 2015!!

WOO HOO!

In this post I’ll break down where that money comes from and talk a bit about what I’m doing to increase my revenue. And by increase my revenue, I really mean increase my traffic, since more readers=more moolah. It is my hope that these kind of posts help other bloggers, or would-be bloggers, see a realistic income report from a new(ish) blog, in order to a) be helpful!

I have a secret. I started this blog in January of 2014 with two intentions.

The first (and most important): to help busy people cook at home more. Since I started consistently cooking whole, healthy foods at home I’ve learned so much and feel amazing. I haven’t been sick as frequently, and I have way more energy. I wanted to spread the knowledge. It’s the teacher in me.

The second: Hey, if I’m putting all of these hours of work into the blog… why not try making a little bit of money from it? And while I’m spreading the knowledge about healthy eating and cooking, why not spread the knowledge of how I’m making a bit of extra cash doing something I love?
