Here’s how to make Sheet Pan Pizza – an easy, fast, cheap way to make homemade pizza that the whole family will love! Everyone can add whatever toppings they want. Sheet pan pizza is the best way to make a large homemade pizza (also great for meal prep!) with very little mess or fuss – no pizza stone, no pizza paddle, just an easy homemade pizza recipe! And you only need four main ingredients and 25 minutes!

I love a good homemade pizza, but honestly, fussing with a hot pizza stone is such a pain. Trying to slide an assembled pizza onto the hot stone often ends up with me being super frustrated at things sticking or toppings falling off, all while my head is half inside a super hot oven. Not fun when your family is hangry and you just want an easy dinner!

Enter: sheet pan pizza. The crust may not be as thin and crispy as a rolled out pizza cooked on a stone. However, it is SO EASY, there is very little mess, and you can make one HUGE pizza with everyone’s favorite toppings on it. This is definitely my favorite way to make homemade pizza for these reasons!

Caprese Pizza on Naan Bread https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/pizza-caprese/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/pizza-caprese/#comments Sun, 22 Aug 2021 14:51:00 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=785 Caprese Pizza on Naan Bread

Caprese Pizza is such a delicious, quick, and easy vegetarian meal, especially when you use naan bread for the crust! You only need 20 minutes and 5 ingredients to whip up this Caprese naan pizza. With layers of fresh mozzarella, sliced ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze, what’s not to love about this flavor-packed flatbread twist on Caprese salad?

Naan pizza is my jam for busy nights. I always keep a package of naan bread in my freezer for easy homemade pizza whenever I want it.

There are a few tricks to making naan pizza perfect every time (including toasting the naan before adding toppings to make it extra crispy). You don’t need any sauce for this recipe – just a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkling of garlic powder before adding the tomatoes and cheese, as well as a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkling of salt and pepper after it comes out of the oven!

This is a wonderful end of summer recipe, when tomatoes are at their peak and fresh basil abounds. And you only need to turn your oven on for a few minutes.

10-Minute Homemade Pizza Sauce https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/quick-and-easy-homemade-pizza-sauce/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/quick-and-easy-homemade-pizza-sauce/#comments Tue, 11 Feb 2020 16:02:36 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=2674 10-Minute Homemade Pizza Sauce

Once you discover how EASY it is to whip up a thick, rich homemade pizza sauce that tastes like it’s been simmering for hours in only 10 MINUTES, you’ll never go back to buying store-bought again! Garlic, herbs, red wine, and tomato paste pump up the flavor in this easy, freezable recipe.

Pizza has to be my favorite food of all time. Sometimes I eat it two night in a row. And I’ve been known to eat it cold from the refrigerator for breakfast.

And to me, what makes a pizza is its sauce.

I prefer a pizza with red sauce (as opposed to a white pizza), and love when the sauce is rich and tomatoey, slightly sweet, and full of garlic and herb flavor. Lucky for me, I have the perfect recipe for this! And best of all, you only need about 10 minutes to make it.

Why is homemade pizza sauce better than store-bought?

Sure, you can buy pizza sauce at the store. But making it is so much better. Here’s why:

  • It’s cheaper. This recipe makes enough sauce for 3-4 full size pizzas (freeze or can the rest of it!) and costs only about $3 to make the whole thing!

Sautéed Vegetable and Goat Cheese Naan Pizza https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/sauteed-vegetable-goat-cheese-naan-pizza/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/sauteed-vegetable-goat-cheese-naan-pizza/#respond Wed, 09 May 2018 15:21:47 +0000 https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=8736 Sautéed Vegetable and Goat Cheese Naan Pizza

Naan pizza is one of my absolute favorite weeknight recipes to make. This Sautéed Vegetable and Goat Cheese Naan Pizza is a perfect vegetarian recipe that comes together in only 20 minutes. Plus, I have a trick to get an extra-crispy crust!

Three cheeses top these yummy pizzas: mozzarella, parmesan, and of course, soft goat cheese. No sauce on this white naan pizza- only a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil to coat the crust before adding the toppings.

The mozzarella is a great melting cheese that coats every bite. The parmesan adds a yummy salty, umami flavor to the pizza- I always like adding extra salty flavor to pizzas without any cured meats, which are already very salty. And the goat cheese adds a yummy, tangy flavor that pairs SO well with the light vegetables.

Confession: we’ve been eating a lot of frozen pizzas around here since having our second baby. Our favorite was the inspiration for this recipe. But I’m always a fan of homemade verses store-bought, even though the ingredients in it are pretty good!

I like being able to control the ingredients I use by cooking things myself. For example, you can make it healthier by using whole grain naan flatbreads.

Crispy Bacon and Kale Pizza https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/bacon-and-kale-pizza/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/bacon-and-kale-pizza/#comments Fri, 20 Oct 2017 15:57:31 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=6921 Crispy Bacon and Kale Pizza

As some of you know, I started my very first vegetable garden this past spring. I got quite a bit of food out of it! One of the last and final crops holding on even through the Texas heat was a little bit of kale. I put it to good use with this Bacon and Kale Pizza, which is our new family favorite.

This pizza recipe is SUPER simple. It uses only 5 total ingredients, and takes under 30 minutes to throw together (assuming you have pizza dough already made). Thank you to my sister- and brother-in-law for the awesome inspiration for this recipe!

Here’s what makes the kale amazingly delicious. First, it’s sautéd in the bacon fat. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do, that’s why. Oh, and because adding fat to a bitter green like kale can make it taste less bitter (you can read more about this in my Massaged Kale Salad Recipe).

Second, it continues roasting in a super hot oven on top of the pizza, resulting in crispy crunchy pieces similar to kale chips. Honestly, I don’t know which is better- the crispy kale pieces or the crispy bacon pieces.

Brussels Sprout and Bacon Pizza https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/brussels-sprout-and-bacon-pizza/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/brussels-sprout-and-bacon-pizza/#comments Sat, 29 Apr 2017 16:45:50 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=6114 Brussels Sprout and Bacon Pizza

If there was ever a match made in heaven, it’s brussels sprouts and bacon. And this Brussels Sprout and Bacon Pizza is the PERFECT way to enjoy the combination. A white pie with a whole wheat crust and only FOUR INGREDIENTS?! Yes, please.

I’m going to be a total cliche American/pre-teen child right now: my favorite food is pizza. That’s it. It has to be. It’s cheap, simple, quick, and versatile. You can take literally ANY combination of food- even desserts– and make it into a pizza. And when you make it from scratch at home and use whole wheat pizza dough, it’s a fairly healthy thing to eat despite its reputation.

I like my pizzas simple. I wanted the flavors of brussels sprouts and bacon to be the stars of this meal, so it’s a white pie with simple mozzarella cheese. It only has four ingredients- pizza dough, cheese, brussels sprouts, and bacon- plus olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Here’s what makes this recipe so scrumptious. The bacon is cooked first and then crumbled. The brussels sprouts are cooked in the same skillet IN the bacon grease (you’re welcome) to make them extra smoky and infuse the flavor as much as possible.

Sausage Breakfast Pizza https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/sausage-breakfast-pizza/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/sausage-breakfast-pizza/#comments Mon, 27 Feb 2017 19:31:13 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=5827 Sausage Breakfast Pizza

This Sausage Breakfast Pizza is the PERFECT brunch recipe. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. This. Is. GOOD. We’ve all grabbed a piece of cold leftover pizza for breakfast before, but making a hot, crispy pizza for breakfast with intention is whole different ball game, my friends. And it only takes 20 minutes to throw together. You have to try this.

It has all the essentials of breakfast. Sausage, eggs, cheese… think of a delicious breakfast sandwich or omelette in pizza form. I don’t know why, as a society, we haven’t bridged the gap more between breakfast and the other meals of the day. Until that happens, it’s my theory that you can take almost ANY food and put an egg on it, and it instantly becomes breakfast. Why not pizza? Of course, this recipe is good for lunch or dinner as well.

This starts out like any normal pizza- crust, topped with sauce, topped with cheese, topped with sausage and sliced red onion. THEN, you create a little space on four parts of the pizza by scooching the toppings over a bit with a spoon (scooching, of course, being a highly technical culinary term), and you crack eggs directly in those spaces.

Easy BBQ Chicken Naan Pizza (Copycat California Pizza Kitchen Recipe!) https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/easy-bbq-chicken-naan-pizza-copycat-california-pizza-kitchen-recipe/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/easy-bbq-chicken-naan-pizza-copycat-california-pizza-kitchen-recipe/#comments Mon, 15 Jun 2015 01:56:17 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=2998 Easy BBQ Chicken Naan Pizza (Copycat California Pizza Kitchen Recipe!)

This BBQ Chicken Pizza is one of those life-changing recipes that I know I’ll make again and again. And again some more. Inspired by the well-known California Pizza Kitchen recipe, but about a thousand times healthier because it’s homemade (and in my opinion, even more delicious), this will be sure to become a new favorite of yours, too!

Zach and I just sat here and ate this for dinner with no real conversation except for the occasional “oh my GOD this is good!” and “this is the best pizza in the WORLD!” Our brains literally could not register anything except for the deliciousness of this pizza.

Side note: I’m so happy I married someone who loves food as much as I do :-)

The best part about this recipe is that it uses leftover cooked chicken (any will do) and naan for the pizza crust, making it extremely quick and easy to prep (with very few dishes dirtied). And since apparently moving across the country requires, you know, lots of packing and planning, I can use all the time I can get! Quick and easy meals are my best friend lately.

Buffalo Mushroom Naan Pizza https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/buffalo-mushroom-naan-pizza/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/buffalo-mushroom-naan-pizza/#comments Sun, 08 Mar 2015 22:38:08 +0000 http://www.bowlofdelicious.com/?p=2524 Buffalo Mushroom Naan Pizza

Naan pizza is my new favorite thing to make on busy weeknights. It is nothing more than regular pizza, but with naan (Indian flatbread) used as the crust. And this particular naan pizza has BUFFALO MUSHROOMS on it. That’s right, folks. Buffalo mushrooms.

I plan on making this once a week for at least the next year. It’s so easy, so quick, and so so so delicious.

I loveeee making homemade pizza. I have a very tasty whole wheat pizza dough recipe, which you can use in place of the naan for this if you want. I usually make pizza dough in bulk and freeze it in portions, but this still involves rolling out the dough and making a big ol’ mess with flour. Y’all know I love cooking things from scratch, but sometimes, it’s just not possible after a very busy day, or if you are soul-crushingly tired after being emotionally beaten by teenagers all day (ah, the life of a high school teacher).

And making pizza at home, either with a naan crust or a regular crust, is guaranteed to be healthier (and cheaper!) than take-out pizza.

So.

Whole Wheat Pizza Dough https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/whole-wheat-pizza-dough/ https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/whole-wheat-pizza-dough/#comments Sat, 01 Dec 2012 21:42:50 +0000 http://bountifulfeast.wordpress.com/?p=82 Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

This whole wheat pizza dough is my go to for thick OR thin crust pizzas or calzones! It’s made with honey and olive oil and it’s not dry or cardboardy- it’s chewy, with a slightly nutty flavor, and perfect for any pizza recipe you want to make.

What? A whole wheat pizza dough that isn’t dry and tastes like cardboard? Impossible you say? Nay!

I, too, was a non-believer until I discovered this recipe. This pizza crust does the trick VERY well. It’s delicious and moist, slightly sweet and salty, and has just the right amount of chewiness.

There are two tricks to making whole wheat pizza dough that actually tastes great:

  1. The first trick is to add olive oil and honey– the oil helps moisten the dough and make it less sticky, which lessens the need for too much flour when you are kneading it and rolling it out, and the honey adds a sweet flavor to balance out the whole wheat.
  2. The second is (don’t get mad at me!) to NOT use 100% whole wheat flour.
