My wife and neighbor and daughter in law loved it. The loaf was beautiful both times. It looks like professionally baked bread. I made honey cinnamon butter to go with the bread. My wife sent the recipe to a friend of her’s. This has made its way into our family recipe binder. I’m going to use the basic bread part with a couple of kinds of olives and see how it works as an olive loaf. Thanks for posting it.

I’ve never tried it in a loaf pan, so I can’t guarantee the outcome, but I’m all for experimenting and my gut is telling me it would work well! You might want to just let it rise right in the loaf pan (grease it well too), and then just pop it in and bake when it’s doubled in size. If you have something that you can place the loaf pan in to cover that would be great for trapping steam, otherwise I would recommend creating steam with a baking pan like recommended in the recipe notes. Would love to know how this turns out for you if you try it!

This bread just cooled enough to allow me to try a slice. It is DELICIOUS! This is now my go-to recipe. I’m grateful for the tip on making crusts a little softer – absolutely works! I’m not experienced enough to know how to do so with other Dutch oven breads, so thank you! I always try recipes *exactly* as indicated; pet peeve when people post comments, launching immediately into their additions & changes, which is no longer making the original recipe! I’ve tried numerous recipes for no knead bread and have failed miserably. This recipe makes fool (me) proof loafs! I was so ecstatic when I opened my oven door to find the perfect loaf that I made!!! You let it rise first before putting it in the fridge. It won’t rise in the fridge because it’s too cold.
