I made this yesterday and subbed orange for lemon (orange is just my preference when it comes to citrus) and oh my gosh! So good! What a great recipe!

I made this this evening. Sprinkled it with the powder sugar. My family and I do not like super sweet desserts so this was excellent. Very nice lemon flavor and the texture is perfect. Very quick and easy to make. I used my springform pan so it was very easy to transfer to the cake storage container. It went well with a glass of cold milk .

That’s a great question! This cake isn’t SUPER lemony. It has a hint of lemon, and isn’t very sweet. I personally would love it as a birthday cake. If your sister likes intense lemon flavor and sweet desserts, it might not be for her. But personally, I think it’s delicious! Subtle and not too sweet. Hope that helps, and happy birthday to your sister! What a nice thing to do for her!

I’ve been on the search for a lemon olive oil cake recipe that is a winner for a while, and I think I finally found it! It was super easy to make and it came out perfect. I substituted unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
