I think I first made this quiche during quarantine in April of 2020 – I was looking for an easy Easter brunch option. This is literally what my elementary aged son expects when he sees quiche on a menu, and he is HERE for it! Fabulous recipe. I often have to cook it a bit longer, but it hits every time. Have had success using half & half when I’m out of heavy cream, too.

So glad you liked it! I’ve never tried freezing the bacon and Swiss chard. But I think it would work! I would make sure to store it as vacuum sealed as possible to prevent freezer burn. In a bag with all the air pushed out if possible. Hope that helps and hope it works well for you!

I have made this quiche several times, using both swiss chard and spinach…either way, it is simply delicious and receives rave reviews every time! I have also frozen the quiche…works a treat. I’ve a glut of swiss chard at the moment…have you ever tried just freezing the bacon and swiss chard portion of the recipe and then using later? It’s too hot right now to use the oven, lol.

I’ve made this twice now. It’s delicious give it a try. I use 3/4 cup of 2% milk and 4T of unsalted butter melted as a substitute for the heavy cream.

I just made this. Never would have thought to use Swiss chard in quiche. It was quite good!
