Hi Elizabeth,
It was one of those days when I didn’t know what to make for lunch. Spotted this recipe and just had to write to let you know how delicious it was and so simple. Thanks for the recipe.

So glad you liked it! The beauty of this recipe is that the tuna is cooked and just straight from the jar. If you have leftover cooked shredded chicken or steak, you may be able to try this same method with it. I’m a big fan of using what you have and experimenting!

Very tasty. Quick and easy. Could we get one like this with steak or shrimp? Thank you!

The first time I heard about spaghetti and tuna was years ago from an Italian young man I was dating at the time, and I was like… whaaat?? Tuna fish and spaghetti?? /scoff scoff… Didn’t try it then, came across your recipe, remembered what he had said and decided to try it… DELICIOUS!!! And my Italian hubby who had also never had it also gave it 2 thumbs up, (because his mouth was full with yummy goodness). Biggest takeaway, I should have tried it sooner! Hindsight is 20/20

I crave it but never had a recipe, so thank you! I can’t wait to make it!

So glad you liked it!! Doubling the tuna is NOT a bad idea at all! I’ve also been wondering how it would do with other tinned fish like sardines. Time for some experimenting, I think!

This is a wonderful recipe. Quick, easy and delicious! Also a terrific base for other additions you might have on hand. As for me, I would double the tuna! YUM!

This is a good question. I would stick with jarred/canned tuna. Jarred tuna packed in oil has been sitting and marinating in all that goodness for a long time, giving it a lot of flavor, and especially because you said it sounds nice and simple – trying to cook the tuna and get a similar texture and flavor will add a lot of work! I would save those tuna filets for this seared ahi tuna recipe – and stick with the jarred/canned stuff for this spaghetti recipe.

That said, if you really want to try your hand at turning fresh tuna to jarred tuna, here’s a great resource I found! https://www.cookingwithrosetta.com/blogposts/tonno-sotto-olio-tuna-preserved-under-oil

Hope that helps!

I have some tuna filets in my freezer and this sounds nice and simple!
